Measuring Leadership Excellence

  • By Mike Phillips
  • In The Leadership Toolkit

I had gotten into a discussion on an episode of The Leadership Toolkit, on how to measure the intangibles of leadership. Things like trust, accountability, attitude, and even mindset. How do you measure these leadership performance metrics? How do you measure leadership excellence? Then I had Jeff Harnois from iBridged reach out and say to me… “Hey! you mentioned the question of how to measure trust?” Among other things that we don’t or can’t typically measure. “I can do that… My company does that,” he said. THAT… is exciting. I then had the opportunity to have a deeper conversation with Jeff on The Leadership Toolkit… and simply stated, the entire conversation was awesome! (You should watch the whole thing HERE)

Jeff is the intuitive and dynamic CEO of iBridged. iBridged is an industry powerhouse reshaping the dynamics of leadership and team performance! Jeff’s unparalleled expertise has driven transformative change within leading global brands like Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, and many more! iBridged harnesses the power of cutting-edge psychometrics including Myers-Briggs and DiSC. These processes allow Jeff and his team to review and offer insights that pave the way for unprecedented growth in leadership, communication, and interpersonal connections. This allows businesses not just to grow the organization, but each individual too. This allows companies to create more solid foundations and overall stronger teams.

Keys to build your leadership, your team, and your business.

As the conversation unfolds, listeners are treated to an insider’s perspective on the dynamic interplay between leadership and employee styles, navigating the nuanced terrain to identify the most effective approaches. We talk about many elements that establish strong team cohesion. Team cohesion is the essence of a well-functioning, synchronized group, where individuals work collectively towards shared goals. It is the invisible force that binds team members together, fostering trust, communication, and mutual understanding. In Jeff’s experience and what iBridged does, they help build leaders and teams through key areas.

Team cohesion is built through focusing on and having tough discussions on these five areas.

  1. Trust in business
  2. Healthy Conflict
  3. Employee Commitment
  4. Leader and Employee Accountability
  5. Producing Desired Results

Those five key areas allow you to build a solid foundation for any team in business.

What other areas would do you measure in your business? What additional leadership metrics do you look at to determine leadership excellence within your organization? I would encourage you to check out the full discussion between Mike Phillips and Jeff Harnois and please share your thoughts too!
